Education: University of Georgia (B.S.Ed.), Columbus State University (M.Ed.), Columbus State University (Ed.S.) Specialty Areas: Supervision of student teachers and interns Cynthia Benator is the Coordinator of Student Teaching for Columbus State University She received her B.S.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia, a M.Ed. in Reading Education at Columbus State University (Columbus College), and an Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision from Columbus State University. Prior to her current position as Coordinator of Student Teaching, Ms. Benator taught first grade in the Muscogee County School District, served as an instructor for courses in remedial reading at a local community college, and supervised student teachers on a part-time basis for Columbus State University. Her current position involves coordinating all components of the student teaching and internship program and providing services for various college, local, and state organizations, and her current academic interests are documenting student learning, assessment of student teachers, and effective remediation of at-risk teacher candidates.
