Specialty Areas: Educational Leadership Dr. Jeffrey Conklin is the program coordinator for the special education program. Dr. Conklin holds an Ed.D. from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He also holds a M.B.A. from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and a B.S. in Psychology from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. He has over 20 years experience in teaching and working with children with special needs. Dr. Conklin is a licensed Social Worker and has extensive experience treating adolescents who have been physical and sexually abused, and he was the Executive Director of a residential treatment program for adolescent sexual offenders. Dr. Conklin has taught at Western Michigan University and Albany State University prior to coming to Columbus State University. His areas of expertise are behavior disorders, learning disabilities, mental retardation, and adaptive and assistive technology. He has authored articles about computer technology, reading instruction and teacher education.
