Dr. Deirdre Greer received her BSEd and MEd in Early Childhood Education from Columbus State University. She received her PhD in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University. She taught in the Muscogee County School District for 8 years. She began teaching at Columbus State University as an adjunct professor in 2004 and began teaching full time in fall 2005. She is currently the Program Coordinator for the Early Childhood program and Assistant Department Chair for Teacher Education. Her research interests include children's development of logico-mathematical knowledge, the relationship between logico-mathematical constructs and beginning reading, improving elementary mathematics instruction through teacher preparation, and improving education through school and university partnerships. Dr. Greer enjoys visiting elementary classrooms to teach model lessons in mathematics as part of her service to the education community.
