My educational background is in both community and school counseling. I have a Masters of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and an Education Specialist degree and certification in School Counseling. I worked 13 years in our community assisting families and children in areas of foster care and adoption. During the last 10 years, I have been in the College of Education and have worked with children ages birth to 4 years through the Child Care Resource and Referral Agency and currently, serve teacher candidates in the Office of Student Advising and Field Experiences (SAFE Office). The SAFE Office is a clearing house for student advising, field experiences, student teaching and certification. It is by far my favorite job! I remain active in our community by serving as a Team Leader for two community groups: the Adoptive Teen Empowerment and Mentoring Team (ATEAM) and a social justice youth group, the Infusion Team.
